Who are we?

The Public Defender Service Advocacy Unit is a full service independent team of advocates.

Our team of 25 advocates (including seven Queen’s Counsel) has significant experience at all levels of the criminal justice system. We specialise in murder, serious violence, historic and serious sexual offences, terrorism, fraud and very high cost cases.

Our service includes a commitment to early case conference, early and continued advice, and a determination to maintain consistency of representation. We accept instructions from solicitors across England and Wales in relation to the full range of matters that appear before the Higher Courts.
