NEW LAW: ‘Ninja’ swords now banned
From 1st August 2025, it will be a criminal offence to possess, manufacture, import and/or sell ninja swords in England and Wales.
Anyone found in possession of a ninja sword in private could face six months in prison. This will be increased to 2 years’ custody under new measures in the forthcoming Crime and Policing Bill.
Those in possession of a ninja sword in a public place already face up to 4 years’ custody.
Ninja swords are characterised by blades between 14-24inches (35-61cm) in length, with a straight, single-edged blade, leading to a pointed tip.
Ninja swords can still be surrendered anonymously.
If you are currently under investigation or facing criminal proceedings concerning alleged offences involving ninja swords, you can speak with one of our lawyers in confidence.
We have four offices and are available 24hours a day, 365 days of the year.
