Why legal representation in Court matters
Defendants who are not legally represented can face significant challenges in dealing with defence statements, disclosure, evidence, and court procedures. Having appropriate legal representation helps to ensure that your rights are protected and that your case is properly prepared and presented.
Many Defendants experience difficulties obtaining representation due to limited solicitor availability, uncertainty regarding legal aid, or the urgency of their case.
If you are due to appear in the Crown Court and do not have a solicitor, or are unable to find one, the Public Defender Service (PDS) may be able to assist.
