Experience

Before pupillage, Joseph worked in the Department for Work and Pensions as a Senior Fraud and Error policy advisor (Jan 2021-Sept 2024). His role involved working collaboratively with key stakeholders and providing advice through submissions to senior leaders and ministers.

Prior to that, he worked as a prison officer with vulnerable males, where he learnt about the criminal justice system from the inside, and where he developed conflict management skills, and the ability to deal with tense, sometimes risky situations.

Joseph completed his legal studies while working full time and continues to volunteer as a Trustee for Landau Forte Charitable Trust and Masicorp UK. He is a volunteer with the Army Cadets and enjoys playing rugby in his spare time.
