What does modern slavery mean?

Organised criminal gangs exploit vulnerable individuals and traffic them from abroad to the UK.

Exploitation tends to include forced criminality, most commonly related to drug networks. Forced labour in illegal activities such as the cultivation of cannabis. Others are forced into the sex trade and/or shoplifting for criminal gangs.
