Launching PDS Advocacy Team Confiscation Group

The PDS Advocacy Team’s Confiscation Group provides expert representation in POCA and other confiscation related hearings.

March 2021 sees the launch of the PDS Advocacy Team’s Confiscation Group.

The Team’s aim is to provide expert representation in POCA and other confiscation related hearings.

At the PDS, we’ve been aware for some time that it has become increasingly difficult for instructing solicitors across the board to retain and obtain experienced representation in all confiscation matters. We know this because of the number of occasions we have been asked by the Courts to come in and fill the breach.

In our team, we have a range of seasoned, specialised confiscation practitioners (some with over 30 years’ experience in this field), who can cover hearings across all circuits in England & Wales.

Our launch event was a seminar on the 11th of March 2021 entitled ‘The benefits of instructing a Forensic Accountant’ – delivered by three confiscation experts from Bartfields Forensic Accountants.

The second event in the series was a seminar held on the 5th of May 2021 entitled ‘Money Laundering Typologies and Methodologies’ – delivered by Andrew Tennant from Gentium UK.

The final seminar in the series – ‘Virtual Currencies’ – was held on the 3rd of June 2021 and was delivered by Andrew Tennant from Gentium UK. If you would like to find out more about online seminars, please contact our Senior Clerk Robin Driscoll at robin.driscoll@justice.gov.uk.
