Lloyd Jenkins secures acquittal in historic sex case
The defendant was charged with a raft of historic penetrative sexual assaults on a close female family friend. The offences were alleged to have taken place at various locations, when the complaint was aged between 6 and 13, and the defendant aged between 11 and 18.
The complainant ‘normalised’ the alleged sexual abuse but eventually made disclosures to her mother and a friend. Within months, the complainant reported matters to the police. The defendant was promptly arrested and interviewed. The defendant denied all allegations.
The case proceeded to trial with the jury returning unanimous ‘not guilty’ verdicts.
Lloyd Jenkins represented the defendant at both the police station and at trial, providing continuity and a streamlined service.
