The Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill attracted much publicity as it progressed through the House of Commons and the House of Lords.
The Bill received Royal Assent on 28th April 2022 which means it’s now law.
The PCSC equips the police with increased powers. The PSCS will also allow tougher sentences to be imposed in the most serious sexual and violent cases.
